I guess we shouldn't be surprised that a "leader" who can't formulate a coherent sentence is also unable to formulate something far more challenging: a coherent policy let alone coherence among a set of policies. If one can't think it, one can't do it.

They do have a very good chance, especially if they don’t do too much of this. (although it’s the socialists getting pelted a good deal of the time these days)

We would be in much bigger trouble if Trump weren't nearly 80 and in declining mental health.

Trump doesn't have the mental ability to have an agenda, so he ends up listening to whoever can flatter him the best. That's how Scott Bessant can tell him that messing with the Fed is a terrible idea one day and Bill Pulte can get him firing Fed members the next.

The game is all about who can best manipulate Trump and everyone is pulling in their own direction.

Hitler was also a madman, but at least he managed to tap into Germany’s strengths. As you say Trump is just weakening America with his lunacies.

Isn’t this pretty common with authoritarian regimes, left or right? You punish group A while demanding greater economic performance and also funneling money into the army to threaten your neighbors. When things don’t go well, it’s clearly the fault of group A and their allies in the next country over.
